Sailing Vessel Maverick
SV Maverick is a 1973 Cal 2-46, custom built in California for the Pillsbury family.

Only 129 of the Cal 2-46's were built between 1971 and 1975 and when you see one, you can't help but take a closer look. Masterfully designed by Bill Lapworth, and built by Jensen Marine, she is made to cross oceans. Both Lapworth and Jensen chose the Cal 2-46 as their personal retirement yachts for extended bluewater cruising.

She is a center cockpit, sloop rig designed to be handled easily and comfortably by two people. With a draft of only 5 feet, 30,000 pounds of displacement, 220 gallons of water tank capacity and a 250 gallon fuel tank, there's nowhere in the world she can't take you.

When we began extensively researching sailboat designs we quickly learned that there are must-have's and compromises
on every boat (and these are different for each sailor). After months of reading, attending online seminars, and watching countless hours of videos we honed in on the Cal 2-46 and never looked back.
Unique Exterior
One of the first things that you'll notice about Maverick is her one of a kind solid teak overlay on the deckhouse and nine large tempered glass windows that provide a 270 degree view from the salon and galley.
Cockpit
Maverick's center cockpit features long bench seats large enough for sleeping and tall back support that keeps the crew high and dry.
Open Salon and Galley
stand up engine room and 85 HP perkins diesel
One of the primary reasons that we chose the 2-46 is the fact that she's a motor sailor. With the combination of this engine and a 250 gallon fuel tank, she has the ability to motor over 1600 nautical miles, if needed.
