What are we rating?
We rate the countries, islands and territories that we visit using our own rating system.
Each category or "GXP Factor" is scored based on 5 sub-factors.
Those number and then used to calculate the final GXP Index.
The GXP Index scores are based solely on our own personal experiences and opinions and the factors and sub factors are issues or qualities that are important to us.
Keep in mind that you may place more or less importance on each one.
Most importantly, the GXP Index is unofficial and meant to be informative and fun.

Why did we create the GXP Index?
Our current plan is to sail and travel for 10-15 years or as long as we want to!
During our travels we are scouting different countries and cities for our potential retirement, when and if we ever decide to slow down. We needed a way to rank each location, based on the things that matter to us, in a measurable way. That's why the GXP Index was born!
how is the GXP index calculated?
The exact numeric formula that we use to calculate the final GXP Index is under wraps (sorry guys).
